Park China Miniskirt Half Price Entry - A PARK in southern China is offering half-price entry to women wearing skirts shorter than 38 centimeters – an offer that has infuriated local residents. The Guilin Merryland Resort in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is holding a “Love Miniskirts” campaign over the next two months.
Footage aired on the local TV station showed female visitors in miniskirts lining up at the entrance to the park while female staff measured their skirts with rulers. 15 inch mini skirt,
Only miniskirts are eligible to qualify for the lower ticket price of 55 yuan (US$8.62). There’s no discount for women in shorts or dresses, the park said on its microblog yesterday. Theme park discounts women miniskirts,
“The stipulation aims to encourage female visitors to showcase their beauty in summer,” said Li Wenxing, deputy manager of the park, one of the country’s major tourist attractions.
Li said the activity had been held annually since 2007 and had been a great success. Visitor numbers, both men and women, soared during the campaign, he said.
The park also holds a water-splashing festival during the campaign where visitors can throw water over each other, including the miniskirted women. That attracted even more visitors, Li said.
But many Guilin residents have criticized the campaign as vulgar and catering to people’s lowest tastes in a bid to make money.
A resident surnamed Yao said the park was encouraging women to behave erotically to attract visitors.
Others wondered if the park would be offering free entrance if the women wore much less, or nothing at all.
“We have been hearing negative comments about the campaign since we launched it, but their numbers are decreasing every year,” Li said.
Zhuang Zhiming, a lawyer with Jiangsu Fazhize Law Firm, said: “I don’t encourage this kind of activity, nor do I oppose it because it violates no laws or rules.”
